Psychology at The Peterborough School is an expanding, highly popular and successful subject. It is only offered at Sixth Form level and is intended to give students an excellent grounding in this highly regarded subject. Many Upper Sixth students go on to read Psychology or related subjects at University.
In the first year students study basic psychological topics such as how we remember and how behaviour changes when we find ourselves in social situations. They also study some of the problems in defining normal and abnormal behaviour. In the second year a more applied range of topics would be covered such as researching the paranormal and sleep and biological rhythms.
Psychology students leave Sixth Form with a wide variety of skills, including the ability to critically analyse data and research evidence as well as a passion for inquiry.
