The Toddler Room
The Toddler Room provides care and education for 15 children between the ages of 20 months and two years and nine months. It provides two main areas of play.
The main room provides a variety of mark making, messy and imaginative play activities. The quiet room has a well-stocked book corner, where the children listen to a story read by an adult or look at a book by him or herself.
The staff in the Toddler Room also provide a simple circle time and the children are encouraged to wave to the adult when their names are called and to listen to a short story, participate in a group music or singing activity.
During the afternoon, the quiet room is closed off from the main room to allow the children to rest and sleep. All the children are provided with their own personal sleep mats, which have their photograph and name on.
A member of the Toddler Room staff is always available to meet and greet you and your child when you arrrive at the Nursery. Children are offered breakfast between 8.00 and 8.45am.
Throughout the day, the children have the opportunity to play with a variety of physical, manipulative, creative and messy activities. Staff will also be involved in focused activities as part of the Birth to Three Framework.
