The Westwoodians’ Association Committee
I am happy to report we have increased the
number of Committee Members to 18 with
the addition of Angela Axe who joined us in
October 2014.
Margaret Hope who has been Chairman for
eight years has decided to stand down
although she will not be escaping as she has
kindly agreed to continue on the Committee as
Vice-Chair. Julia Lamb has been on the
Committee for 18 years, the past six years of
which as Vice-Chair and will also remain on
the Committee. I would like to take this
opportunity to thank both Margaret and Julia
for their hard work and commitment to the
Committee. The Association has benefitted
greatly from their knowledge and expertise and
we are very fortunate to still have their
presence on the Committee.
In light of this, a new Chairman was voted in at
the May 2015 Committee Meeting and I am
delighted to announce that Victoria Axe took up
this role from the new academic year in
September 2015.
Hannah Crier (Head of School) and Rachel
Senior (Deputy Head of School) were co-opted
to the Committee and we extend our grateful
thanks to them for their support and for
representing their fellow pupils so well. They
have been an absolute delight to work with and
we wish them every success as they start their
new lives – Hannah is studying Business
Management at Nottingham Trent University
and Rachel is studying English Literature at
The University of St Andrews.
If you would like to become a Committee
Member, please contact the Secretary at the
address above. As a Committee member, we
look for attendance at three meetings a year
and at the Annual Reunion, so the time
commitment is minimal. Meetings take place at
the School and usually start at 7.00pm.
