News from Wendy Wood – Former Staff (1982-1995)
For 21 years I have been enjoying my
retirement and also keeping in touch with
school via the Westwoodians’ Newsletters. For
the last 16 years I have been living in Spain
and therefore the Newsletter is a useful source
of contact with the school. Although I found
that the 2015 edition saddened me with the
obituaries, five of whom I had known.
I am in touch with Angie Axe fairly often, as
she visits Spain quite regularly and we meet
up and reminisce on these occasions. Angie
was my first Head of Department when I
started at Westwood House as a tennis coach.
Later I moved in to the Boarding House
as Relief Housemistress along with various
Housemistresses and Matrons.
When an opportunity arose in the Preparatory
Department for a ‘Helper’ in P1 coincided with
my advancing years and diminishing energy, I
decided to change from PE to P1. As numbers
in the Prep Department grew less, I was able
to spend a couple of afternoons a week in
the Economics Department working with
Miss Pauline Facy.
I feel privileged to have been part of the staff
of the now Peterborough School and treasure
all my memories from all the fields in which I
worked.
Good luck and keep up the good standards.
