the most exciting opportunity for me was
getting to work with Christopher Bruce in his
creation of a new piece entitled
Some Sort of
Island Dance
which is to be performed in the
show. Working with such an internationally-
renowned choreographer was a wonderful
experience and it allowed me to capture a
glimpse of what life in the profession is like.
We will go on to perform this show at the
Linbury Studio Theatre at the Royal Opera
House and the Lilian Baylis Studio at Sadler’s
Wells – two fantastic venues!
My time at Rambert will come to an end in
June 2015. I cannot believe how quickly time
has gone. It is strange to think that Rambert,
Twickenham and everything associated was
an unknown world such a short time ago! I am
now in the process of auditioning for a job. In
the meantime, I am going to savour my last
few weeks of training and make the most of
everything before entering the big wide world
of dance!
This article was written in May 2015 and since
then Emily has graduated from Rambert with
a BA Hons I in Ballet and Contemporary
Dance and started working with Springs
Dance Company in October 2015.
